The Highlands’ newest venue for weddings, live music & boutique events

Built in 1811 but in use since 1591, Bogbain commands spectacular views across the Moray Firth – it truly is the Gateway to the Highlands. The farm is a unique setting for any part or event – Bogbain has the ambience that can only be found in a 19th century farm building. From the imposing hand-built stone walls, to the wooden rafters to the stone and, in some parts, cobbled floors, Bogbain is a boutique venue all on its own.  It provides the ideal space to give your event a sense of something special.
There are three main areas available for hire. These can be taken as a package or just as a single rooms. From corporate events to birthday parties, and festivals to great Highland weddings, every area of Bogbain has unique characteristics and benefits that can be dressed and decorated to suit your event.

The Barn

The Barn

The acoustics and ambience in the Big Barn are special. With its very high timber trusses and beautifully pointed stone walls, the room has the atmosphere suitable for a large banquet but can also be used for dances and concerts. The Big Barn has housed concerts by MOJO Award winning Americana act Low Anthem; one of Scotland’s fastest rising acts, Kassidy; and Indie-folk band, Broken Records as well as Bogbain’s own festivals such as The Inverness Whisky Festival and the Northern Roots Festival.

The Byre @ Bogbain

The Byre

The Byre has all the rustic charm you could expect in such a setting. Red brick stonework on one side contrasts beautifully with the whitewashed stonework alongside the original rafters and rooftop. As you enter the smell of a peat or wood fire welcomes you. With the bar and kitchen at either end of this room, the Byre really is the central hub for any party, function or reception.

The Bothy

The Bothy

The Bothy is the newly rebuilt part of Bogbain which houses regular music sessions. It has been designed and decorated to highlight that classic shabby chic feel. With a piano in the corner, instruments hanging on the walls and enough space to host events such as intimate concerts, talks, dinner parties or whisky tastings, it’s a great space that really captures the imagination.
The Bothy can seat 120 comfortably for meals and can easily be divided into two.  The larger section also houses our Accordion Museum.
